Our Family (minus Jenson) zipped off to Las Vegas for Dave's Sisters Wedding--don't panic, it wasn't in the "Little White Wedding Chapel" where you can me married by Elvis. She has lived in Vegas for over 2o years. We decided that if we were going to trek across the country(via Delta airlines), we were going to make it a fun family vacation. Now, you might be wondering, "Why wasn't Jenson able to go?" Well, he is quickly becoming a teenager, and frankly we didn't want to deal with his attitude, so we shipped him off to scout camp. Okay, the part about Jenson is only partially true. He is really a great kid and we would have loved having him with us, but when we found out about the wedding he was already committed to scout camp.
We had two days of vacation time before it became "wedding central." The first day was spent at the Mirage visiting Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. Dolphins are Allie's favorite thing in the entire world. Luck was on our side that day, hardly anyone was there and we were able to spend a couple of hours just watching and interacting with the dolphins. The white tigers and lions were pretty cool too. After our Dolphin experience, the kid were dying to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe. It was quite a "trip".

The next day we spent at the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory and Cactus Gardens. I am still a little perplexed how chocolate and cactus go together, nonetheless, we enjoyed both. Our kids were amazed by the cacti, that is not something you see our area. The kids learned that it is probably a good idea to eat your complimentary chocolate before you go out to the cactus gardens and not save it in your hand for later--then it becomes chocolate soup.
