First day in Athens

After taking a quick nap we decided to explore the "old town" in Athens. It is called Plaka. This is where old meets new. The gentleman at the travel desk at the hotel recommended a little hole in the wall restaurant full of great Greek food, dancing and music. He made us a reservation, however, they did not even open until 9:00pm. One thing we learned was that no one here can say Rawlings, so you just say Rolling, like the Rolling Stones--and they all can say our name. We spent the evening walking around Plaka, shopping and taking in the sights, We got our first view of the Acropolis. Finally it was time for dinner. I have to admit I was little scared walking to this place in the dark, we had to go through some dark alleys to get there--HOWEVER, it was worth it. Great Greek food--the food here is delicious. We then enjoyed the show of Greek Music and Dancing.
